For their December/January 2026 Issue, the team at Philadelphia Magazine asked me to illustrate the Crankcase essay, “Liberation Day,” by Sandy Hingston.

The goal of the project was to convey society’s never-ending search for youth and beauty while aging as a woman. We achieved the final illustration by placing a semi-invisible, older woman in the foreground with a background full of parade floats in the shapes of trendy beauty products that promise youth.
